News for expats on COVID-19 - update 28.05.2020

The Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism recalled yesterday, 27th of May, at the press conference that Spain has set the date for admitting the international tourism for the 1ST OF JULY,  the day that the period of the quarantine to be held will also be lifted. Together with the European partners common rules and regulations for re-opening of the borders within the EU are being developed.
For international mobility to be effective, it must be kept in mind that the evolution of the virus must be positive, that the hospital capacity in the country can be guaranteed and finally that there will be controls in the different regions. Airlines, such as Transavia, Lufthansa or Brussels Airlines, had previously mentioned starting flying to Spain from June, but one can not forget that upon arrival one should be in quarantine for 15 days and only people with Spanish nationality and residents who can demostrate this with their registrationdocuments, may enter the country. However, Ryanair has confirmed that they will only start to fly on the 1st of July from and to the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and Spain among others. All mandatory safety measures must be taken, such as wearing a mouthmask and taking the temperature before boarding the plane.

Tomorrow, Friday the 29th of May,  Torrevieja will open its weekly market with food and basic-needs stalls. Now Torrevieja is added to the list of Townhalls that had opened previously weekly markets of course with all necessary measures.
